Women's Ministries

 
 

Circles: Study of the Book of Acts: His Witness to the World by Carol J. Ruvolo                       (check the calendar for meeting place) Nursery provided at the church
-Morning Circle - 9:30 a.m. the second Tuesday in each month.
-Evening Circle - 6:30 p.m. the second Monday in each month.

Bible Studies:

-Monday Night at 6:30 PM (except for Circle Week) at the church - Beth Moore study, "The Book of Daniel"

-Tuesday at 9:30 & 12:00 noon (except for Circle Week) in the home of Sarah Starnes, 1517 Terrace Road - Sermon tapes of Rev. Tim Keller, Redeemer Presbyterian Church, New York City. Noon Bible Study group is "bring your own lunch". Nursery provided for 9:30 session but not for 12:00.

*Circles and Ladies Bible Study groups do not meet during the summer

Committees:

Holy Dusters: take a turn about every 3 months dusting the foyer and sanctuary, checking pews and friendship roles, and making sure the restrooms and kitchen are in order for Sunday activities. Contact: Eleanor Campbell (843-5344)

Gracious Greeters: take a turn about every 3 months standing in the foyer between Sunday School and Morning Worship greeting visitors as they come in. Contact: Lynn Radicioni (843-5992)

Nursery Workers: willing, loving ladies, young and old alike give bottles, change diapers, rock, and keep our children safe Sunday morning and evening, Tuesday and Thursday mornings and Wednesday night. Contact: Naomi Starnes (719-9497)

Prayer Chain: Leaders meet on Wednesday morning of each week for prayer. They call the volunteers to pray for specific needs in our church family as well as people in the community who ask for prayer. Some prayer chain members participate by e-mail instead of telephone. Contact person: Sarah Starnes (843-1194)

Dorcas Daughters: Committees of ladies prepare and deliver meals for members of our congregation who are sick, have a baby, or have a death in the family. Contact: Bert Herbison (843-7858)

Sunday Night Suppers: Volunteers set tables with cloths and silverware, put ice in glasses, hand out drinks, and clean up the kitchen afterwards. Contact: Diane Blansett (846-5062)

Flower/Decorations: Committee members decorate the Sanctuary and foyers of the church for Sunday morning worship and all church-sponsored special suppers, receptions, etc. Helpers assist with multiple arrangements that are needed for Christmas, Easter, Valentine's Banquet, and special suppers. This is a great way to learn flower arranging. Contact: Nancy Gee (846-6766)

New Members: Committee members help welcome new members into the congregation and make them feel a part of the church family. This is a new committee, and we welcome volunteers. Contact: Miriam Hart (846-6826)

RUF Refreshments: provide desserts for about 35 students every Tuesday night and for the Christmas party. Sign up sheet on the RUF bulletin board. Contact: Seth Still (601-503-7250)

PYF Refreshments:  Volunteers provide refreshments for youth fellowship after Sunday Evening Worship. Contact: Michael Hart (843-9598)

Prayer/Pamper Showers: volunteer to host or co-host baby showers for babies born to Covenant mothers. Contact: Clover Mellen (846-6686)
