Scripture & Catechism Memory

March

Catechism Questions

Q6. How many persons are there in the Godhead?
A6. There are three Persons in the Godhead; the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost; and these three are one God, the same in substance, equal in power and glory.

Scripture:

Matthew 3:16-17
As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened and he saw the lightning on him. And voice from heaven said, "This is my Son, whom, I Love; with him I am well pleased."
Matthe 28:19
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, bapized themin the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost.

A Hymn for Reflection

"Come, Thou Almighty King"

Anon., ca. 1757      Felice de Giardini
Come, thou Almighty King,
help us thy name to sing,
help us to praise.
Father, all glorious, o'er all victorious,
come and reign over us,
Ancient of Days.
Come, thou Incarnate Word,
gird on thy mighty sword,
our prayer attend.
Come and thy people bless,
and give thy Word success;
Spirit of holiness, on us descend
Come, Holy Comforter,
thy sacred witness bear in this glad hour.
Thou who almighty art,
now rule in every heart,
and ne'er from us depart, Spririt of pow'r.
To the great One in Three
eternal praises be, hence ever more.
His sovereign majesty
may we in glory see,
and to eternity love and adore.
